The Georgia Aquarium

Sorry it has taken me so long to update ... I told you, I am not good at this blog thing!

I LOVE these grumpy looking fish!!

Almost 2 weeks ago now, Cathy (Mason's Mom) treated us all to a day at the Georgia Aquarium. I was pretty excited as we had not been yet because it is so expensive and then factor in that you have 2 young kids who might melt down at any minute sending you on your way home (and making you be out a lot of money)...!
Surprisingly, the day went FABULOUS!!! Tyler and Isabella both loved looking at all the fish, stingrays, jelly fish, lobsters. etc! I was personally shocked at how in to it Isabella was. I totally expected her to be like "Wow .... fish. OK, let's go now!!". But she really enjoyed looking at the floor to ceiling tanks of fish and all the colors. I HEARD Tyler enjoyed it as well but he was off pulling Cathy in other directions from where we were so I couldn't actually tell you his reactions to everything! But she says he had a lot of fun!

The funniest thing, to me at least, was when we went in to see the 4D movie called "Deepo". It was only about 15-20 minutes long and you got to wear these really cool, and stylish I might add, glasses. The kids were both excited about seeing this animated movie .... until it started! Tyler kinda flipped out! The moment the fish jumped out of the screen and came floating in front of you, he ripped his glasses off! Isabella on the other hand was enthralled and trying to pet those fish in front of her!! The movie theatre was set up where they had real water mist that sprinkled on you at times, real bubbles that came out of the ceiling at times, and this air pump thing that shot air out from under your seat ~ I guess to make everything seem even more realistic. Wow, Tyler was NOT liking that at all! He was ready to leave a few minutes after the show started, especially once the shark made his appearance! But being the AWESOME parents we are, we made him stay! ;) After the movie, Tyler was so thankful it was over and Isabella was begging to go see it again! I couldn't help but snicker at how different these two are from one another!

Anyways, it was a great day.
As you can see from the car ride home, it really wore the kids out!

Tyler Starts Pre-School

The morning of Tyler's First Day of Pre-school

We are on our way!!
Tyler had the biggest smile on his face when

picking him up after school!

Well, I decided it was time I joined the rest of the world and begin a blog for my family! So I guess I will start with my baby starting school.

Tyler started Pre-School at the church on Tuesday. He was very excited about beginning school but he informed us he was a little nervous! When he woke up Tuesday morning, he came to me and told me he wasn't going to cry or have any accidents (he found out he needed a change of clothing in his back pack at all times, just in case). Then he asked me the most important question - what was he going to have at school for snack time!!! :) I told him I didn't know and he would have to wait and see what his teachers gave him!!! When we picked him up he said he had lots of fun and met lots of new friends. He met a new friend on the playground and they played super hero, rocket ship, chase, etc together. He told me he got into a little bit of trouble at school because he wasn't remaining in the center he was suppose to be in. Then, bless his little heart, he told me he was very sorry and he would try to do better the next day and make me happy. I told him that he always makes me happy. He smiled and planted a big kiss on my lips!

The second day of school didn't go so well for Tyler. His teacher gave me a call and told me of ALL the incidents of the day and it wasn't pleasant. My heart broke because I do not want to have the "problem child" that all the teachers pray will be absent that day and I felt bad for Tyler because he really is a sweet child. Tyler and I spent the afternoon talking about everything that went wrong, what was suppose to happen and reminding him school was a place to learn, not play. He had a few punishments in there too for his behavior, to put it lightly. It made me so sad last night though, because he decided he didn't want to go to school anymore, he just wanted to stay home with me. This tore me up inside! I knew how much he had been looking forward to school and I just hope this is just a temporary result from the days events and not a permanent change of heart.

So today was day 3. This morning he drew his teachers a picture as a way to say he was sorry and he had me dictate on the picture "I am sorry for my behavior. I hope you have a good day. I will do better and remember my manners. Love, Tyler". It was a very sweet picture. We spent time this morning remember how to act and praying for God to help him make better choices. I also went as far as drawing a happy face on his hand so while he was at school, he could see the happy face to help him remember to have behavior that would make God, me and his teachers happy. At 12:30 when I was waiting in carpool line, I was just dreading the report I was going to get. I was just praying it was a good report and our efforts yesterday payed off and made a LITTLE bit of a difference. Sure enough, they did! He did end up on yellow (out of green, yellow, red) but yesterday he was like on black! The infraction today came on the playground and he had a bit of a timeout and had to move his clip. Other than that, his teacher told me he had a MUCH better day! YEAH!!! Now let's hope that between today and Monday, when he returns to school, he doesn't forget everything!!!

So there you have it. Tyler started school this week and I guess I will be having to pack him up for college in another month or so by the way time flies!!
